Otmar Alt was born on July 17th 1940 in
Werningerode, Germany. After his painting-studies at 'master school for
arts and crafts' and at the 'university for graphic art' in Berlin he
was promoted rapidly to the artistic avant-garde and is today named among
the few high-ranking artists of Germany.
Meaning a composition Otmar Alt often speaks of "oscillation
field". Thus he subsumizes art-units sharing the same level,
corresponding among themselves and form an unpredictable relation. Art
develops here from this correspondence of colors. The fantasy of the
viewer becomes lively. It starts discovering journeys into a land
where no foot has been set before and promotes thoughts he did not
have before.
Otmar Alt became generally accepted within all areas of graphic art.
He operates as painter, etcher, sculptor and creator of object-art.
His terms of art however goes far beyond that and enters the whole
lifesphere. Therefore his caring for the animals of his private zoo in
Hamm, Germany, provided Alt with inspiration for a large number of his
work.
Numerous works enrich public and private collections. Alt's
continuously successful presence on the national and international art
market is based upon his way of compromiselessly following his own
style. It is also widely accepted that his works have the ability to
please even those, who usually reject any modern art. |
